Choosing a high school to prepare a young person for college and a career is an important decision. We are pleased you are considering Bishop George Ahr High School.
BGA offers a wide range of college preparatory courses, athletics and organizations that make high school a challenging and exciting experience. We hope you will get to know us better by attending our Open House, Freshman for a Day Program, any of our athletic events or our Drama productions.

Admission Information
In order to be considered for admission to the Freshmen Class, the student must submit an application that includes a record of grades for the 6th, 7th and 8th years and take the entrance test that will be given in November.
Applications for the entrance test can be obtained in several ways:
- At BGA's Open House;
- By coming to the Counseling Office and picking up an application;
- By calling the Counseling Services at 732-549-1108 ext. 616 and asking that an application be sent.
- Parochial school students can receive applications from their principal.
- CCD students can receive applications from their CCD principal.
Freshman Admissions
Any eighth grade student interested in applying for admission to our incoming freshmen class is required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) of the Diocese of Metuchen and complete an application. Please contact our School Counseling Office for testing information and application procedure.
Freshman-For-A-Day
Attention Current 7th and 8th Grade Students...Get to know BGA through the Freshman-For-A-Day Program!
Want to experience BGA personally? Check out what it's like to be a BGA student by following the schedule of one of our Student Ambassadors. (Current 8th Grade students are welcome to visit 1st Semester...current 7th Grade students are welcome to visit 2nd Semester.) Your host will guide you to all his or her classes--including lunch, of course! You'll meet the teachers and see them in action, get a sample of homework assignments, and perhaps take a test along with the class! You can even participate in a discussion. Just raise your hand!

Upon receiving the completed form, you will be contacted by Ms Karen Wilton, FFAD Coordinator, to arrange a date for your visitation.

As Freshman-For-A-Day your day will begin as follows:
- You will need to arrive in the Main Office to sign in at 7:45 am and MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- You will follow a student throughout the day to each of their classes
- At the end of the day you will meet some of our students to answer any questions you might have about Bishop Ahr High School
- You will need to be picked by a parent or guardian in the Main Office at 2:00 pm
- We do have a dress code for the day……Please no jeans, no sneakers, and no sweatpants
