Freshman-for-a-Day

Thank you for your interest in visiting Bishop George Ahr High School through our Freshman-for-a-Day program.

The BGAHS Freshman-for-a-Day program is open to current 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in applying to Bishop Ahr.  The program affords students the opportunity to experience BGA personally by shadowing one of our students for a full school day.

8th grade students are welcome to visit during the first semester (October - January), while 7th grade students are welcome to visit in the second semester (February - May).

As a Freshman-for-a-Day, your day will be structured as follows:

  • You will need to have your parent or guardian sign you in at the Main Office no later than 7:45 a.m.
  • You will then meet and follow one of our students throughout the day
  • At the end of the day, you will meet some additional students who will answer any other questions that you might have from your day at BGA

Your parent or guardian will need to pick you up at the Main Office at 1:45 p.m. Your host will guide through all of his or her classes, including lunch.  You'll have the chance to meet some of the teachers and see them in action, meet many of our students and see a sampling of homework assignments and assessments.  You can even participate in a class discussion, just raise your hand!

We ask that students visiting BGA please not wear jeans, sneakers, or sweatpants.  Visitors are also asked to not bring or use any type of electronic device during classes.  This includes cell phones, iPads, iPods, etc.

To sign up to be a Freshman-for-a-Day, please complete and submit this form.  Upon receiving the completed form, you will be contacted to arrange a date for your visit.

If you have any additional questions regarding the program, you may contact our Freshman-for-a-Day Coordinator: Mrs. Karen Wilton | 732 549 1108 x658
