Pumpkin Caroling October 30, 2007

Twenty seven Bishop Ahr High students accompanied by Sister Cyndi, Deacon Mickey Coppola and Mrs. Susan Williamson visited Brighton Gardens Assisted Living, Edison, NJ on Monday, October 30, 2007 for the annual Pumpkin Caroling visit.
The students, in colorful and lively costume, entertained the residents with familiar carols replaced by "Halloween" words such as "Deck the Patch", "The Twelve Days of Halloween",  "I'm Dreaming of the Great Pumpkin", "Pumpkin Bells" and even "O Pumpkin Cards!"

The residents joined in the singing with such favorites as "You are my Sunshine" and "America the Beautiful". Senior Andres Ortiz-Gomez sang the song "I Wanna Be With You" from the Wedding Singer and senior, Jillian Curry sand a song from the Drowsy Chaperone.

Following are some comments from the students: Eric De Jesus said: "I had a lot of fun. The residents were really nice. It was better than I expected, and I will definitely go Christmas caroling!"

Matt Roche commented: "It was a lot of fun. We were doing a good thing. Everyone's faces light up when we came and stayed light up the whole time."

Senior, Marissa Procaccini said:  "I had a great experience. All the residents were very friendly and I felt good about being with them."

The time shared with Ahr friends at Brighton Gardens is filled with love, laughter, and fun. They are as a much a gift to us as we are to them.
